Heating & Air Conditioning in Lakeville, MA

Our next town over — and the trickiest one in the area when it comes to figuring out which rebate program you qualify for.

Serving Lakeville

Right next door

Lakeville borders Middleboro, so it's about as local as our work gets — often a ten-minute drive from the shop. We've spent 30 years working on the housing stock here: older homes around the ponds, farmhouses on the back roads, and newer construction where ducted and ductless heat pumps are common.

Boilers, furnaces, radiant heat, heat pumps, air conditioning, residential and commercial — whatever the system, we service it.

Important for Lakeville Homeowners

Lakeville is split between two utilities

This is the one that confuses almost everybody, and it's worth getting right before you sign anything. Lakeville isn't served by a single electric utility — it's divided between Middleborough Gas & Electric (MGED) andTaunton Municipal Lighting Plant (TMLP), depending on where in town you are.

Both are municipally owned. That means either way,Lakeville is not a Mass Save town — the statewide rebates and the 0% HEAT Loan are funded by Eversource, National Grid, and Unitil customers, and neither municipal utility participates. A quote built on Mass Save incentives doesn't apply here regardless of which side of town you're on.

What it does change is which program you use. MGED and TMLP each run their own rebates, and the terms aren't identical — TMLP Saves™ includes a zero-interest loan option, for instance. Both offer free home energy assessments through Energy New England, and both require the installer to be on their participating contractor list.

We're a participating contractor for both programs. That matters here more than anywhere: whichever side of Lakeville you're on, the rebate requires a listed installer. Hire someone who isn't on the list and the money isn't available to you — and in a town split between two utilities, that's easy to get wrong.

Not sure which one you're on? Your electric bill answers it immediately — the utility name is right at the top. Or give us a call with your address and we'll sort it out with you.

Choosing a System Here

What makes sense in Lakeville

A lot of Lakeville sits outside the natural gas mains, which pushes most decisions toward either staying on oil and propane or making the jump to a heat pump. The municipal rebates matter more here than most people realize.

On oil or propane

The strongest case for a heat pump in this area. You drop fuel deliveries, gain central air conditioning as part of the same system, and both municipal utilities offer rebates toward the changeover.

Older homes near the ponds

Many were built without ductwork, and adding it means opening up finished space. Ductless heat pumps let you condition the rooms you actually use without that disruption.

Keeping your boiler

Nothing wrong with that. A well-maintained boiler with sound piping has plenty of life left, and we service and repair them. We'll tell you honestly when it's worth keeping.
