Heating & Air Conditioning in Berkley, MA

A small town with a rebate program most homeowners don't know they have — Berkley is TMLP territory, not Mass Save.

Serving Berkley

Small town, same standard of work

Berkley is one of the smaller communities we cover, and smaller towns often get the short end from larger outfits — longer waits, less interest in a single boiler replacement. We're a30-year-old shop in Middleboro with the same owner throughout, and we treat a Berkley job the same as any other.

Boilers, furnaces, radiant and hydronic piping, ductless and ducted heat pumps, air conditioning, residential and commercial. Any brand, including whatever the last contractor left you with.

Important for Berkley Homeowners

Berkley doesn't use Mass Save either

Berkley's electricity is supplied by Taunton Municipal Lighting Plant (TMLP), a municipally owned utility. As with Taunton andRaynham, that puts Berkleyoutside the Mass Save program for electric measures — the statewide rebates and the 0% HEAT Loan are funded by investor-owned utility customers, which Berkley residents aren't.

This catches people out. A homeowner reads about Mass Save heat pump incentives, gets a quote built around them, and only later finds out none of it applies. Worth knowing before you plan a project around numbers that were never available to you.

The program that does apply is TMLP Saves™: rebates toward cold-climate air source and ground source heat pumps, help with weatherization and air sealing, elevated rebate tiers for income-qualified households, and azero-interest loan for energy work. It starts with a free home energy assessment through Energy New England, and the installer has to be on the program's participating contractor list.

We're a participating contractor for the program. The rebate requires the work to be done by a listed installer, so this is worth checking before you hire anyone — not just us.

Rebate levels change from year to year. Check current terms onTMLP's program page, or give us a call and we'll explain where it stands.

Unlike Lakeville, which is split between two utilities, all of Berkley is TMLP — no need to check.

Choosing a System Here

What tends to make sense in Berkley

Natural gas isn't a given in every part of town — whether there's a main on your street is the first thing to confirm, because it decides most of what follows. If there isn't one, you're weighing oil, propane, and heat pumps.

No gas main on your street

This is where heat pumps make their strongest case, and where TMLP's rebates and zero-interest loan matter most. No fuel deliveries, no tank, and central air conditioning included in the same system.

Keeping an oil boiler

A sound boiler with good piping is worth keeping, and we service and repair them. If you want air conditioning without touching the heating system, ductless heads can be added independently.

Older homes without ductwork

Retrofitting ducts into a home never designed for them is invasive and expensive. Ductless heat pumps condition the rooms you actually use without opening up ceilings and walls.
